Hey America,

First off I hope everyone had a great weekend. I was lucky enough to go on a mini vacation to Lake Arrowhead. This was awesome because it gave me the chance to really clear my head and think about things. By the way, this is a follow up to last weeks blog “Good Goals” so if you missed it here it is http://www.realtimesblog.com/?p=329

I actually shouldn’t say it’s a follow up but it is in fact a related issue. So here’s the deal: Recently, I’ve found myself in the middle of a lot of stuff that has gotten messed up. By saying recently I probably mean my whole life because no matter what I do, I always seem to find myself tangled up in things that I don’t want to be in. I also don’t think that I’m alone when I say that but that’s of course just part of life.

The thing that is relevant though is the way you handle yourself in these situations. It is evident that eventually you will end up in a situation that you don’t necessarily want to be in. Lately I’ve been putting myself in this place because of my own actions…Something that’s not necessarily all that glamorous…but there are also other ways to get yourself in a mess and it isn’t always technically “your fault”.

What I’m trying to say is THINGS WILL GO WRONG. You can plan all you want and it still doesn’t matter because life is sometimes out of your hands. Even if you’re like me and you tend to mess things up, it’s meant to be. So the reason I say these blogs are related issues is because the last issue was about planning and setting goals. Specifically GOOD GOALS. But everyone knows that you won’t always achieve your goals….duhhh But when you don’t it’s not always a setback.

When things go wrong we often panic. We do this because it isn’t going according to the PLAN. This creates unnecessary stress. However, almost everyone lives their lives this way…In a nervous panic.

You can’t panic when things go wrong. Things won’t get better that way. Instead embrace the things that come unexpectedly and understand that it’s just meant to be that way. It’s almost impossible to understand why things go wrong sometimes. But when you look back on the situation it will probably make a lot more sense. Actually, you will probably be thankful that it turned out the way it did. You can analyze things all you want but the truth is that it’s hard to see things when you’re too close up…Think about a painting. If your eyes are right next to it it just appears a big glob… But when you step back see things more clearly, that ugly glob that you thought you were in might just happen to be a work of art. Clarity.

“Consider it pure joy my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds” –James 1:2
